What is a “Red Line”?
These are errors that occur when listing items or for some other reason (there are many).
You’ll see the item in your inventory but it will NOT be up for sale on Amazon!
No listing exists for this inventory item.
They’ll look like this when you are viewing your items in “Inventory Amazon Fulfills” or the “Manage FBA Inventory” screen (both are the same thing).
Without an inventory listing, your item cannot be seen or purchased on Amazon.com. There are several different issues that can stop your inventory item from listing.
How to find your “Red Lines”:
1.) In Seller Central click on the “Inventory” tab, then click on “Manage FBA Inventory”
2.) Use the first pull-down menu to select “Error Status”
3.) Use the second pull-down menu to select “Items with Errors”. Then click on “Search”.
How to fix your “Red Lines”:
The easiest approach can sometimes be to contact Amazon directly through Seller Central.
NOTE: Some pay listing services may also have easy solutions to fixing this problem. Get in touch with them and ask.
Also, take a look at Amazon’s “Inventory Amazon Fulfills Troubleshooting Page” here: https://sellercentral.amazon.com/gp/help/help-popup.html/ref=ag_200252930_cont_fbalist?ie=UTF8&itemID=200252930#nolisting
If you want to fix them yourself then give this a go:
IMPORTANT: Some of your “red lines” may be for inventory that you recently listed but it is not checked in at Amazon yet. Leave these alone. Once Amazon checks in the items these “red lines” should disappear.
We have found that many red lines are missing a price in the “price” field for some reason. We enter a price and then click on the yellow/orange “submit prices” button.
To make this process easier we will sometimes price ALL of our Red Lines at some outlandish price like $599. This way we can easily find these items later when repricing in All Inventory View.
If this does not fix the problem then you may have to re-list the item using the same EXACT MSKU.
If none of these methods fix the “Red Line” then you will need to contact Amazon through Seller Central.
